Cherish is an emerging Writer/Director and Producer and is a Screenskills 2023 Returners Mentee and part of Film London EAN’s Breaking in Over 35 second cohort. She has two shorts that have done the festival circuit including ’Music Box’ which screened at Oscar and BAFTA-qualifying Leeds International Film Festival and was the European Independent Film Festival film of the month. She has an MA in Film and TV Directing from the University of Westminster (with scholarship award).
She is currently raising finance for a coming age sports drama short film in partnership with the Lea Rowing Club, a feature script she is developing as a UK-Turkish co-prod and an LGBTQ+ period romance based on a true story in development.
Also an established freelance professional in the branded content sphere, she has a portfolio of commercial work as a Producer-Director for brands including Nike and Marriott.
Originally from the Philippines and having lived in the US, Japan and Turkey before settling in the UK, her style is influenced by the third culture kid experience and driven by a deep interest in understanding people and the universalities of the human experience.
She has been living in London since 2010 and balances having a young family with work and projects. She is a champion for diversity in the industry and harnesses emotion and sensitivity to tackle age-old themes in ways to reflect the current climate, making stories that are relevant today.
She tries to fit in gardening, sailing and cooking where she can find time!
