In the Philippines, where fifty percent of the population is under the age of twenty-five and where a tenth of the capital's population live in the Manila slums, everyone needs hope. And for many of the Filipino youth, basketball is an obsession - representing a social support, an outlet and an escape.
Nike provides a platform for 24 young teens to participate in an intensive basketball training academy with the possibility of creating a different future for themselves through basektball.
This pivotal series captures and shapes the experience for these privileged and brave few, captured with a stylised docu approach, with the Rise kids' thoughts, trials and tribulations at its core.
